On Deck

On the deck of the ferry I mentioned we were waiting on this past June. I recognize that the title could be used for a decent amount of my posts, given the affinity for boats this summer (though, honestly, it just makes me think about baseball). Nonetheless, there’s something rather aesthetically pleasing about how distressed from years of wear ferry decks are – driven over, stood on, out in the elements at all times of the year. The whole family was around, but I only got one with dad, K, and M. It was unbearably windy, but I had some fun with little M, and you can see the Oak Island lighthouse as you make your way across.
