“…has done more for us than we were disposed to do for ourselves.” I started reading this at the beach yesterday, but I’m still going. I don’t know of anything more appropriate for today, after all. Washington’s Spies: The Story of America’s First Spy Ring by Alexander Rose tells the story of the spies at the heart of America’s war for independence. Namely, the Culper Spy Ring, which provided crucial intelligence for General Washington. AMC’s Turn: Washington’s Spies takes its basis from this novel and recently completed airing its second season.
